How tall is an elephant ?

The African elephant reaches 4 m and weighs up to 7.5 tons. The Indian elephant weighs slightly less – up to 5 tons, its height is 3 m. The mammoth refers to the extinct proboscis. The elephant is a sacred animal in India and Thailand.

According to legend, Buddha’s mother dreamed of a white elephant with a lotus, who foretold her birth of an unusual child. These are the largest terrestrial mammals that inhabit Africa and Southeast Asia. They prefer to settle in savanna and tropical forest areas. It is impossible to meet them only in deserts.

An elephant is an animal that is famous for its large tusks. Animals use them to extract food, to clean the road, in order to mark the territory. Tusks grow constantly, in adults, the growth rate can reach 18 cm per year, old individuals have the largest tusks about 3 meters.
