The rules of basketball

The game of basketball is one of the most common sports games. It does not require special monetary costs and allows you to play together with a large number of people. The main goal of basketball is to score the ball in the opponent’s ring. But there are some rules that are mandatory in this sport.

In basketball, there are two teams of five. The game is played only by hands. The player holding the ball must hit the ball on the floor and lead the ball with one hand to the rival’s ring. In the area near the ring, with the ball in hand, without hitting them on the floor, you can only do two steps, and then try to throw it into the basket. The whole game is divided into 4 periods of 10 min each.

An abandoned ball is counted as follows:

– a free throw is scored in one point;

– for a ball thrown from the playing area, 2 points are counted;

– for a ball thrown from a 3-point zone (6, 25 m from the shield), 3 points are counted.

The match begins at the center of the playground. The referee throws the ball over two players from the opposing teams. According to the official rules, one team is given no more than 24 seconds to attack. The number of substitutions in basketball is unlimited, but you can only hold them when the stopwatch stops.

It is forbidden to beat the opponent on the hands, push him, hold his hands, step on his feet, substitute the footrests. The player who committed the violation is assigned a foul. Ultimately, the goal of each team is to score points that are larger than those of opponents, before the end of playing time. If, after the end of the game time, the account was tied, then an additional time of 5 minutes is assigned.
