Can guinea pigs eat carrots ?
Guinea pigs can be given carrots and carrot tops, green and red bell peppers, apples, apricots, bananas, blueberries, cantaloupe, grapes, oranges, strawberries and tomatoes.
And as plants without pesticides, such as grass, dandelions, clover and gerbil, especially fresh, they are very nutritious.Any greens, vegetables and fruits should be administered gradually in order to avoid digestive disorders.
When choosing food for guinea pigs, avoid in the composition: nuts, seeds, dried fruits, corn products, animal products, beet pulp and other fillers. Avoid starchy vegetables, such as potatoes.
Hay should be the basis in the diet of guinea pigs at any time of the year. Hay from such grasses as timothy grass and meadow grass, the best is suitable for adult guinea pigs. Hay from alfalfa is rich in calcium and is a good addition to the diet of growing, pregnant and lactating guinea pigs.
