Centipedes – information
The centipede is one of the most dominant predators of the world’s insects, having claws on their first body segment is one of the most notable features of the centipede. The centipede is a carnivorous animal and, consequently, a pure meat mead. Mnepods mostly prey on insects, spiders, worms and other small invertebrates, although some large species of centipede are known to prey on small mammals and reptiles.
The centipede has a number of predators in its natural environment, although all the animals that normally hunt centipedes are relatively small. birds, toads, frogs and small mammals such as shrews and mice are the most common predators in the centipede. The centipede also saw people in certain cultures.
The female centipedes lie on average 60 eggs in the masonry, which are covered with sticky substance for protection. A female centipede usually buries its eggs in the soil and some species of centipedes are known to feed the baby with eggs and centipedes, but not all.
The centipede is one of the oldest animals on Earth, something that has become a form today, millions of years ago. The centipede has been found in fossils dating more than 400 million years.
