Clownfish – information
Clownfish or as it is also called, clown ocellaris three-tape (Amphiprion ocellaris), belongs to the genus of marine fishes from the family of pomatsentrovyh – brightly colored tropical fish from the group of percussion. At the moment, we know about the presence of 26 species of these fish – almost all of them belong to the genus Amphiprio, and only one is represented by Premnas Lankteanthus.
Inhabitants of Amphiprion ocellaris live in the waters of the Indian and Pacific Oceans, at a depth not exceeding 15 meters, near coral reefs and islands. They are distributed on a fairly extensive territory – from the African continent to the islands of French Polynesia, as well as from the Japanese islands to the Australian coast.
The slave clown was called because of its color – thick black stripes alternate with white and orange (in some species – with red or yellow). Iris eyes in amphiprienes of bright orange color.
Amphiprion ocellaris is small in size: the largest specimens reach 11 cm, while the average length of the rest of the flock is about 7 cm (females one centimeter larger than males). The body of the amphyprion has a torpedo shape, the sides are thickened, the back is high, the head is short, convex, resembling a froglike one.
Osellyaris has one dorsal fin, colored at the edges in black and divided into two parts: the anterior fin – rigid, with sharp spines, has ten rays and the posterior fin – softer and has from fourteen to seventeen rays.
These fishes form small family groups in which one female lives with several males, and is the largest and oldest fish in the family. Interestingly, it can spawn until death (in nature, amphiphrons live about ten years, in an aquarium – twice as many). The female prefers to do this on a full moon, not far from her shooting, and if he does not, then in a grotto or under a rock.
After a week, fry appears from the spawn, which rises up to the places where the plankton gathers, where they feed, grow (many cubs die in this period), and after growing up, they go in search of anemia and join the flock.
