How long do pheasants live ?
It depends on the type of pheasant and the living conditions. The average life expectancy of this bird is about 13-15 years in the wild, at home it lives longer on average 18 years, but it is not uncommon for cases where, with good care, pheasants in captivity lived up to 23 years.
Most birds lead a sedentary life, and inhabit mainly the territory of Asia. But due to the fact that a lot of birds are bred and eaten, they are already imported to almost all continents. Preferably settle on cool and humid meadows, arable land, in forests and thickets of bushes.
Since recently, many countries have introduced a ban on pheasant hunting, which has significantly reduced the population of these birds. Therefore, now pheasant meat is very expensive and is considered an expensive delicacy.
