How long do rats live ?
How many years live the rats? Their life is short. In favorable conditions, it can be from 2 to 3 years. But many individuals do not survive to 2 years and die in 1-1,5 years. But if the rat was domesticated (this sometimes happens), then it can live up to 4-5 years.
As a rule, old rats have several diseases, neoplasms on the organs. In addition, they almost completely lose their activity and literally survive, but do not live.
The following factors can influence the lifespan of rats:
- Food. For example, waste use and cannibalism affect life expectancy extremely negatively.
- Lifestyle. If a rat is forced to often hide from predators or cope with difficulties, then it will live less than an individual who leads a relatively calm and measured life.
- Habitat conditions. Thus, rodents living in places with sharp temperature changes or in too hot or, conversely, cold regions, usually do not live to 1-1.5 years. At the same time, rodents living in favorable climatic conditions can live 2-3 years.
- Habitat. If people live next to each other, then surely they will poison the rats, which will shorten the life of these rodents.
