How long do wolves live ?
We must immediately note that wolves live in the wild under very harsh conditions. The age of the “average” wild wolf (as well as the usual dog) is 10-15 years.
Mostly they die from disease, trauma or exhaustion. Nature does not forgive even a small weakening of the body.
With due care the wolf is able to stretch to 18 years, and sometimes even up to 20-22, only there is one BUT: the wolf is a freedom-loving animal. To live in captivity for a wolf is torture. Nevertheless, useful food and timely care of the veterinarian prolong the wolf-age.
The champion is considered to be an unnamed wolf, who reached the turn in 30 years. This is the maximum possible limit, almost three times higher than the norm.
It remains only to wish the wolf long life. After all, this particular beast is an important link in the food chain of the forest. It is no coincidence that he was entrusted with the honorary title of medical attendant of the forest. Do not be a wolf – the populations of many animals would suffer from the presence of sick individuals. So, the wolf prevents the development of epidemics.
