What do giraffes eat while in captivyit ?
In the zoo, the menu of giraffes is more diverse than in the wild. His diet includes leaves, grass (clover), oat flakes, hay, bananas, oranges and carrots. Also there is food in the zoo, which giraffes like to eat most of all – it’s bread. All food and water for giraffes in zoos rises to the level of their head. This is done to make it convenient for them to get it.
Giraffes have a multi-chambered stomach like a cow and food in it is difficult to digest. Therefore, in order to completely digest, it falls into one stomach, then comes back, and chewed again. This process is called “chewing gum”.
