What do mongoose eat ?
Most mongooses are predators, although among them there are also omnivorous species. Mostly eat mongooses of different insects, crustaceans, small reptiles and mammals. For example, a yellow mongoose does not mind eating a bird or a rodent. The Javanese mongoose eats not only animals, but also different fruits, roots, fruits. Some species even know how to kill poisonous snakes. It happens this is not often, only when the snake hits the path of the mongoose. Catching the snake is possible to the animal due to its agility and maneuverability, there is no immunity to snake venom in the mongoose.
The mating season for different types of mongooses occurs at different times. Some have spring, others have autumn. The time of gestation in females of different species is also not the same. Some babies appear in 42-49 days, while in others only for 60-84 days. Kids are born blind and helpless. The first few weeks of life are fed with milk, then, after reaching 2 weeks of age, fed by different insects. Independently to hunt kids begin in the second month of life. Full maturity and self-sufficiency the young grows at the age from 1 to 3 years. Mangoose lives 10-20 years.
