Toucans are exclusively forest inhabitants. Favorite places of these handsome people are forests and woodlands of Brazil, Argentina up to the south of North America. Forests prefer plain, less often mountain, but at an altitude of more than 3000 meters they are no longer met. There is only one kind of toucans, which can be found at an altitude of over 3000 meters. They live in hollows left by other birds or expel other smaller residents.
There are not many enemies in nature for these birds, only a few species of snakes are a danger to them, usually they are pythons, and also cat and large predatory birds.
