Interesting facts about Ulyanovsk
Ulyanovsk is a fairly large city in Russia, founded in the 17th century. Since then, the city has changed its name several times and has grown considerably, turning into a large and extremely important industrial center. It is located in the European part of our country. Ulyanovsk is famous for its aviation industry, and earlier, you are old times, it was a major center of river trade.
Its modern name Ulyanovsk received, as it is easy to guess, in honor of VI Lenin, whose real name was Ulyanov.
Every fifth car and every third aircraft in Russia are manufactured in Ulyanovsk.
Literally a couple of hundred years ago in Ulyanovsk there were about three hundred thousand barge haulers. Here it will be appropriate to recall the famous painting “Burlaki on the Volga”.
