Boar hunting

One of the favorite species of game for hunting enthusiasts is the wild boar, this formidable and dangerous predator, and at the same time a worthy trophy. When hunting for a wild boar, first of all, it is necessary to observe safety precautions, since a wounded or blind path to retreat, a cleaver often throws himself at a hunter.

The main methods of hunting for wild boar: hunting from the tower, from the paddock, from the approach, with dogs. This is what we will try to write.

Unlike domestic pigs, it has a more elongated head and developed hair, which, growing, forms a mane on the back. Wool of a hard boar has a close to black color. In piglets along the body are bright stripes. In mountainous areas and in places with deep snow cover, boars migrate to places where it is easier to find food. Boars love to dig the soil in search of various roots, but in general they are extremely omnivorous. Often they can be found in the fields with corn and potatoes. Mostly boar is active at night, when he and forage. In the daytime, he arranges maturation in hard-to-reach thickets. With the exception of cleavers, who prefer to live alone, wild boars tend to keep their herds. From November to January they have a rut period, at this time there are fierce fights between males.

Females in spring give birth to an average of 5–11 piglets.

Hunting for wild boar from the towers is organized in places where there are outlets of the herd to permanent feeding areas. On the trees they make platforms with due account for the wind rose. The location of the hunter should be under the wind, otherwise, the beast will smell and will not fit the shot.

The boar has a fairly solid armor, so when hunting for it you should use either a 12-gauge smooth-bore gun, or, which is undoubtedly better, a rifle. Of course, sitting in an ambush, you need not to talk, but to observe complete silence.

With this type of hunting, the beaters are stretched with a chain and are combing the forest or reed beds, driving the boar to the hunters. It requires strict adherence to all rules of conduct.

All participants in the boar hunt must undergo strict instructions. They can not leave their numbers until the end of the hunt and shoot in the direction of neighboring numbers in order to avoid casualties.

This is perhaps the most common way to hunt a boar, in which a hunter without dogs, alone, inspect the forest areas where boars can live. He moves cautiously, listening to the sounds of the forest, against the wind, trying not to scare the beast.
