The Norwegian Grieg had Scottish roots – in the second half of the 18th century, his ancestors moved to the country of the fjords from there.
The future composer created his first musical work at the age of 12 years.

Grieg married his cousin, with whom he lived all his life. The family did not approve this marriage, and the parents cursed the newlyweds at all, so they had to move to live in another city.
