But the most unusual organ of an elephant is certainly a trunk. Proboscis is not a nose, as many think, but a completely unique organ, formed by a fused nose and upper lip. In this case, the trunk has its own system of powerful muscles and tendons.
Thanks to this structure, the trunk has both strength and flexibility. The power of the trunk is such that with its help the elephant can destroy trees, raise logs. At the end of the trunk is a mobile and sensitive outgrowth with which the elephant is able to touch and manipulate the smallest objects.
