How to become a basketball player
In 1975, the USSR released the film “The Central from the skies”. The main character of the film, previously not engaged in sports or basketball, under the influence of love so quickly grew into a cool player that he became the star of the winning match of the Soviet team “Student” with the US team. In life, it does not happen. And to win at this basketball court you need to train from childhood.
We consult with the child
Before giving his son or daughter to the sports school, it does not matter whether it’s basketball, gymnastics or even chess, and starting to see a star at home, it would be nice to talk with teachers, sports doctors and the child himself. Unfortunately, often the desire of a girl or a boy, their data and sporting opportunities are radically different from the dreams of adults. When choosing basketball as a future sport, you must first understand and evaluate the health hazard. After all, basketball, for all its entertainment and beauty, is a dynamic enough, hard and strong sport, where physical data is very much appreciated.
When to start
The recommended age for starting a basketball game is 8-9 years. At the same time, it is not forbidden to learn to swim and jump a little earlier, to practice normal gymnastics, to train coordination and endurance, to run around with the ball and without the ball. All this in the world of big sport is called OPP (general physical training). Preliminaries allow the child to come to the hall already slightly prepared, will help to perceive exercises more easily and avoid injuries. But it is important not to drive the young player, do not start immediately demanding accurate shots and immediate victories. Moreover, experts recommend training and playing until the age of 14 no more than four times a week.
Where to start
Theoretically, you can start at home or on the street. Basketball is considered ordinary people rather simple game, for which you only need a ball and a ring on the shield. And mastering the conduct and throws from any distance is permissible even alone or under the direction of the once played papa. But a more promising option is still a stable attendance at a basketball school for real trainers, usually recent pros. The advantages of such trainings are the increase of personal skills, the acquisition of skills in the team (and basketball, after all, the game is 5×5), the opportunity to become impregnated with competitive spirit from childhood and play with real rivals.
