Interesting facts about Leon Trotsky
Lev Trotsky, one of the organizers of the October Revolution, had a difficult and eventful life, just like other political figures of this magnitude. Various researchers relate to him and to his activities ambiguously, but it must be admitted that this man left his impressive mark on history.
The future politician was born on the territory of modern Ukraine, not far from Kherson.
Jew by birth, he was called Leyba Davidovich Bronstein.
Before the revolution, Trotsky was twice sentenced to exile.
In 1905, by imperial decree, Trotsky was deprived of all civil rights.
Until the moment when Trotsky fell into disgrace at the Soviet elite (that is, until 1929) in the Soviet Union, two cities at once were called Trotsk.
The world-famous multi-volume encyclopedia “Britannica” includes an article about Lenin written by Trotsky. For this work, he received 106 American dollars.
Trotsky created his own vision of Marxism, called “Trotskyism”, which spread throughout many countries of the world.
In 1932, three years after his expulsion from the USSR, Trotsky was in absentia deprived of Soviet citizenship.
Because of the pressure of the Soviet government, for a long time no country wanted to grant asylum to Trotsky, until finally Mexico agreed to accept it.

Ramon Mercader, Trotsky’s murderer, 20 years after his conviction, was released from prison and was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union in the USSR. At the same time, the Soviet government continued to deny its involvement in the murder of Trotsky.
All the descendants of Trotsky took other names.
Officially, Leon Trotsky was rehabilitated only after the collapse of the USSR, in 1992.
