Orinoc crocodile

Orinok crocodile or Latin Crocodylus intermedius – adjoining from a family of real crocodiles. This is a fairly large species, the largest predator of South America. It reaches a length of five meters.

The Orinoc crocodile – Crocodylus intermedius was once the most common in most South American countries, but because of the long hunt for the skin of this reptile, it was almost completely exterminated and is now preserved mainly only in Colombia, Venezuela and several nearby islands.

It feeds mainly on fish, and, if possible, devours birds and small animals. It lives in almost all South American countries. The population is about one and a half thousand individuals.
