Golden Sands Resort is located on the territory of the national park of the same name in Bulgaria. It is considered an environmentally friendly resort. There are many water slides, various attractions for children and adults, rich nightlife, excellent conditions for a good rest and recuperation. However, the terrain is mountainous, the descents to the beach are usually quite steep, so relaxing with small children is not very convenient here.
The beach strip of the resort is located near the hills covered with dense forest, the sand on the beach is shallow, there are close to about 70 hotels, most of which are 3, 4 and 5 star. In addition to hotels, you can rent a room in a sanatorium or a holiday home. On the beach there are many opportunities for recreation and sports, and the sea near the coast is quite shallow with a clean bottom. The tourist infrastructure offers yachts and water skis, surfing and motorboats, water parachutes and tennis courts, as well as a yacht port where you can rent a yacht. For children, there are classes at the tennis school, as well as an amusement park: slides, trampoline, children’s railway, children’s go-karting, archery and circuit.
Recreational activities take place at the resort during the entire season. These are beauty contests, festivals, parades, and tournaments. Also organized performances of famous pop singers – both Bulgarian and foreign.

Golden Sands is also a health resort. Natural factors are used as medicines here: the sea climate and the sun’s rays, sea water and many medicinal plants, as well as therapeutic mud. Here is the balneological center “Ambassador”, where arthritis and arthrosis, stress and neuroses, as well as chronic pharyngitis and bronchitis are successfully treated. Treatment with bee products is also applied.
The famous mineral springs, the Aladzha rock monastery and the chapel of St. John the Baptist are considered sights of Golden Sands.
Before traveling around Bulgaria by car, it’s best to stock up on a tire fitting kit and also take care of gasoline. In Romania and Bulgaria, gasoline is somewhat expensive. You can enter Bulgaria on a national or Schengen visa, which you also need to think about in advance.
If you plan to rent a car already in Bulgaria, then it is best to do it in advance, with the help of a representative of the distributor, by contacting him via the Internet. Most of the cars in the rental offices belong to the “mechanics”, and there are quite a few cars with the “automatic”.
Documents that a tourist will need to rent a car in Bulgaria: a driver’s license is usually enough national, and a passport. The age of the driver should not be below 23 years, and the experience – below 3 years. Most items accept cash. The cost of renting a car usually includes unlimited mileage, insurance, similar to the terms of CTP, VAT and vignette. If the driver expresses a desire to purchase CASCO, a child car seat or connect a second driver, this is charged separately.
