The state of Peru is popular because of those unique places that are so distinctive and often inexplicable, that they remain attractive to tourists for many decades. In addition to the mysterious drawings and pyramids, this country is a unique ecosystem, because only in the Amazon, or rather, in its delta, about a third of all known species of animals live on earth.

The most convenient way to get is a flight through Europe.

Fly will have about 16-18 hours. But if a tourist from Russia travels to Peru for less than 90 days, then a visa is required for our fellow citizens. There are no global restrictions on the importation and exportation, unless it is historical values, weapons or drugs. The only caveat is that if you take out leather, fur, wool or jewelry items, you will most likely be asked to present a purchase receipt at customs.

If you decide to visit this country on your own and arriving in Peru in splendid isolation, be careful. At any time you can become a pickpocket victim. The hotel preferably use the safe.

Machu Picchu
Of course, the first thing to remember is the ancient city of the Incas – the mysterious Machu Picchu, located high in the mountains. The mystery of this city is that at some point the inhabitants simply left it. Why? What for? What pushed one of the most developed civilizations in history to leave their haven? Nobody knows that today.

The buildings in the city are made of stones, which are fitted to each other in such a way that modern stoneworkers in bewilderment say that it is not at all clear how the ancient Incas could do this.

Machu Picchu is so valuable to the present that UNESCO decided to limit the number of tourists visiting the city in one day.

Nazca desert
The Nazca is located in the south of the country, bounded by the Ingenio and the Nazca rivers. It is a huge stone plateau, painted with figures of birds, animals and people.

These drawings can be seen only from an airplane, and many species depicted on the ground are not found in this area. It is thanks to these figures Nazca and became known to the whole. Until now, the Nazca desert is one of the most mysterious places on the planet.

Arequipa
Arequipa is the most beautiful city of Peru. The second largest, is located in the southern part of the country, the administrative center of the province of Arequipa. For almost 5 centuries, it preserved the elegant appearance of the historic center.

Arequipa is located in the south of the country. It is notable for its convent, Jesuit church, former mint and cathedral. Arequipa for tourists serves as the starting point for excursions to the world’s second deepest canyon Kolka and climbing the nearby El Misti and Chachani volcanoes.

Selva
It occupies the eastern part of the country. The main attraction is the amazing fauna and flora: mahogany, vanilla, rubber, pink dolphins, which can be seen on the Amazon, caimans. In addition, pure-blood real Indians live in this area, and in the jungle you can find many monuments of ancient culture.

Regarding the cuisine of Peru, we can say the following. Of course, a great influence was made by Europe, but, nevertheless, the notes of local color still remained.
Meat is eaten by anyone – lamb, beef, and even guinea pigs. Do not touch only the alpacas, like llamas, because they are used for the production of wool.
On the coast and near the Amazon, priority is given to fish and seafood. Extremely popular in the country are potatoes.

A few words about shopping. Jewelry, wool, pottery, furs, and souvenirs are mostly imported from Peru. In the markets it is accepted to bargain, and sellers even wait for it.

Peru is a country very far from us. However, it relates to those phenomena, having seen which, one can safely say that life is lived not in vain. All the riddles that have come down to us from ancient civilizations, all this is not just. If you dare to go to this unique region, you can touch something unusual and great.

And finally: the weather in different parts of Peru is significantly different. For example, it is better to go to the mountainous areas and areas of Selva from June to August, while the months from December to March are preferable to visiting the coast. Have a nice trip.
