Bangkok

Bangkok – a former once small port city, grew over time into the capital of azure Thailand, becoming a cult destination for tourists from all over the world. Although few know that the real name of the city fits in several lines and even included in the Guinness Book of Records.

As well as throughout the country, the climate is sub-equatorial: the temperature is consistently high – it fluctuates between three and five degrees during the year, but the season changes from a humid – from May to October, to a dry one – from mid-November to April. The average temperature is 28 degrees.

Modern Bangkok, its glass skyscrapers, luxury hotels and restaurants are organically combined with old buildings. Amazing landscapes and blue water surface, comfortable hotels, excellent cuisine annually attract more and more tourists here.

Rattanakosin Island – “Higher Jewel” is a full center of the cultural and political life of the city. Here is the palace of the viceroy and the king, ministries and state monasteries.

The old part of Bangkok – its historical center – is replete with monasteries and temples. Wat Pho monastery is famous for the statue of the Reclining Buddha, illustrating the moment of waiting for enlightenment. This is the largest statue of the Buddha in this position – 46 meters long and 15 meters high. Not far from this place is the best library in the country, containing ancient manuscripts, and another monastery – Wat Phra Keo, the most revered and sacred place among the population. It houses the statue of the Emerald Buddha: 66 centimeters of pure jadeite! The statue is clothed in clothes by priests, changing it several times a year. Two bronze lions brought here from Cambodia “guard” the entrance to the temple.

It is better to look for a hotel in the city center, which is the most “safe” part of it. One of the best is The Oriental Bangkok, it is preferred by tourists from all over the world. Indeed, it provides a fairly high level of service, has its own river pier, swimming pool and gardens. Shrangi La Hotel shines with special luxury: national decor style, marble decoration.

Many people prefer to eat in very decent restaurants in hotels that can boast of cleanliness and exquisite dishes, which cannot be said about the ordinary eateries of the city. But among them, it is possible to distinguish those that still enjoy the trust and recognition of tourists: Seafood Restaurant, Grand Shangarila Restaurant, Royal Kitchen and Tandoor.

Often the city is called the “eastern Venice” because of the many canals and well-developed river transport. But Bangkok has an absolutely individual flavor: its houses and markets, which face the facade directly on the water, river trams and taxis, ferries have their own atmosphere, which cannot be confused with anything else.
