Chelyabinsk is a large city with a powerful industrial base, one of the largest in Russia. He became such during the Second World War, when many enterprises were evacuated away from the front. However, even in more ancient times, Chelyabinsk was an important trading point through which the routes of the eastern caravans lay.
The first stone church was founded in Chelyabinsk in the middle of the 18th century. Anthrax was first studied in Chelyabinsk, and serum from this deadly disease was created. Chelyabinsk is located almost in the very center of Eurasia and is located on the border between the Urals and Siberia. The coat of arms of Chelyabinsk depicts a loaded camel. Chelyabinsk is among the ten cities in Russia with the most developed crime. One of the main attractions of Chelyabinsk is the 12-meter monument “The Tale of the Urals”. Santa Claus’s caftan, in which the monument was once dressed up on New Year’s holidays, entered the Guinness Book of Records – it was so big. In addition, a 74-meter beard was attached to the monument. Residents and guests of Chelyabinsk can ride on a ferris wheel with a diameter of 73 meters – this is the second largest attraction in the Russian Federation.
