Interesting facts about Yalutorovsk

Yalutorovsk is a small city located on the Siberian expanses. The climate here is harsh, and the nature is surprisingly beautiful. In the vicinity of Yalutorovsk there is everything – and a dense forest, and deep bogs … However, the civilization got here a long time ago, and to get to the nearest major city – Tyumen – is not a problem.

In 1912, the last surviving member of the battle of Borodino, who was 117 years old at that time, lived here.

The most famous landmark of Yalutorovsk is the local museum complex. In 2008, he took part in the contest “Seven Wonders of Russia” and successfully reached the semi-finals.

Once Yalutorovsk was founded as a settlement, a border outpost, but for a hundred and a few years it grew and gained the status of a city.

In 1911 the first steamer (on the Tobol River) arrived here, and in 1912 the first train arrived.
