In the southern part of Asia, between China and India, the state of Nepal is unique in many respects. In Nepal, in an area of ​​147 thousand km², about 29 million people live. The population is divided into two large ethnic groups – Tibetan and Nepalese. The capital of the country is Kathmandu. The official language is Nepali. The monetary unit is Nepalese rupee.

From 1975 to 2007, Nepal was a kingdom with a constitutional monarchy. However, the death in 2001 of King Birendra and his family marked the beginning of a period of instability in Nepal, which ended with the proclamation of the republic in 2007.

Despite the fact that Nepal was unavailable for visits until the 60s of the last century, today tourists are attracted to this country not only by the culture of the ancient state and the colorful life of the local people. Nepal attracts connoisseurs of beautiful with its unique landscapes, and lovers of outdoor activities – with mountain systems. After all, Nepal is the highest mountain country, where there are seven of the highest peaks in the world, including the top number 1 on Earth – the famous Chomolungma. Its height is 8848 m.

The uniqueness of the natural landscapes and climate of Nepal is amazing. This small country seems to be sandwiched by the icy peaks of the Himalayas from China and the hot tropical jungle from India. Here various climate zones coexist, from the tropics to the cold Arctic, which vary greatly in the amount of precipitation.

Chang is considered a national drink in Nepal – barley beer. In addition, Nepalese like to drink oil tea with salt. Nepal has many Buddhist temples and pagodas, especially in Kathmandu and Patan.

These include: the Bodhnath stupa and the architectural and sculptural complex Swayambhunath; Pashupatinath temples complex; Krishna Mandir Temple; Golden Monastery; Ancient royal palace with a statue of the monkey god “Hanuman’s Gate”. It was the Nepalis who brought Buddhism to China and Tibet. And the Nepalese Buddhists consider the city of Lumbini to be the birthplace of Buddha.

There is an assumption that in the forested mountains of Nepal there is a snowman, who is called yeti in those parts. And despite the fact that people supposedly still find more and more traces of the yeti here, this character can most likely be considered fabulous. Nepal, of course, does not look like the developed countries that are so attracted to it, but when you arrive in this amazing country, you will be greeted by amazing landscapes and a lot of exotic.
