Surprisingly, the fountains we know in Barcelona for the first time started in 1929 on the day of the World International Exhibition. In 1992, they acquired their present form and became singing. It was just a gift from Barcelona to the Olympiad. The famous engineer Buigas created this miracle. For which many generations are still grateful to him.
Under the ground is a whole construction of pipes. The length of the pipes is about 1.5 km, the fountain launches more than 3,600 jets into the air, and 4,700 lamps illuminate them. And all this miracle reaches a height of 50 meters. With the onset of dusk or closer to them on the square begin, tourists gather. Unfortunately there are no seats, so you have to stand.
