The city of Lipetsk is very beautiful, interesting and generally comfortable for living. Residents of the entire Lipetsk region are gathering here in search of work and a good education, and the hospitable city welcomes everyone, giving everyone a chance to prove themselves. In addition, its historical center is well preserved, which is attractive for tourists.
It was here that one of the first resorts in modern Russia appeared. Having opened more than two centuries ago, they are functioning now, offering mineral water and healing mud to everyone. There are several unusual monuments in Lipetsk. One of them is dedicated to The Beatles, and the other to Bremen Town Musicians. There are as many as 11 museums, 4 of which are very interesting art galleries. In Lipetsk there used to be a traveling palace of Peter I, but to this day it has not been preserved. Lipetsk is the second largest settlement on the Voronezh River, second only to the city of the same name.
The symbol of the city is linden. There really are a lot of these trees, and thanks to them Lipetsk got its name. At the beginning of the 19th century, a fire destroyed almost the entire city. After this tragic event, the townspeople began to build mostly stone houses, not wooden ones.
Primitive people lived in the place where this city now stands, back in the 5th millennium BC. Seven Lipetsk streets were named in honor of the Soviet cosmonauts. Lipetsk was founded back in 1703. He is already more than three centuries old, and more than 500 thousand people call him his home. By the way, at the base it was called differently – “Lipsky factories”. 18 universities and their branches work here. Lipetsk, despite its considerable age, is included in the list of the youngest regional centers of the Russian Federation.
