What is an industrial civilization

Industrial civilization is one of the many stages in the development of human society. The times when primitive people ran with stone axes, hunted mammoths and lived in caves, have long since passed, although, of course, there are a lot between primitive hunters and us at these stages of development.

Once mankind itself adapted to the environment, and spending on this is mainly physical effort. The choice was simple – or you adapt, or do not survive. But when we entered the stage of industrial civilization, everything changed, and people began to reshape the world in their own way, guided by their own ideas about how it should be.

This has freed mankind from dependence on nature – well, of course, not completely, but to a large extent. In addition, it is in an industrial society that a larger number of people for a comfortable existence can spend mainly mental effort, rather than physical.

From the point of view of science, industrial civilization is characterized by the rapid development of industry, the active use of scientific achievements and an increase in the proportion of the population engaged in skilled work. This is the main point that distinguishes industrial society from agrarian, although at present in some countries of the third world there is an agrarian society. For examples, it is not necessary to go far – just look at the countries of Africa.
